Do I have enough. 51 of the book, the authors asks this question "What is the one consistently true statement we can make about money that will allow us to be clear, masterful and powerful in our relationship with it." Their answer: "Money is something we choose to trade our life energy for."My mind had to wrap itself around that for a while. On pg. I have inched my way through this small, 300-page book, because it is filled with such challenging ideas as these that I dare not miss a one of them. Am I trading my life for money. Is the money worth the trade. Anyone who wants to regain command of their life should read this book. Those who do may find that they are closer to financial independence than they realized.
Maybe a lot of busy people don't have time to rat on the shippers. People are less inclined to lie to you personally than in print.
True, it only cost a dollar, but shipping was plenty. As good a book as I've ever read but in such deplorable condition it was impossible to finish.
My thought now is to confirm condition of used books with the shipper by phone prior to shipping. Wise and cheerful frugality was one of the major themes of the treatise, so my trust in the shipper's description of book condition was ironically betrayed.
It was -and is- twisted out of shape so badly it is a grief stricken event to read the genuine wisdom within its hallowed pages. As I recall, the bookstore had a high rating for satisfaction a la clients.
So take that 95% rating with a grain of salt.
Some things never change, but this has been a vital aid in these economic times.Self help is what it is all about these days and this is an asset.
My reading of the earlier version literally provided a foundation for my life when I first read it decades ago. This should be a "required reading" for every high school student in America. It contains timeless truths that allow a reader to use their life energy well and to live lives full of meaning and that are purpose driven. I retired comfortably in my early fifties and much of the credit for the approach I used can be found inside the covers of this book.
Overall - somewhat dissatisfied. The listing said slight water damage, I would have used a stronger term. The pages are stiff and brittle. For my purposes, it's fine.
